N2 welcomes Rustin Clark

In September Rustin Clark became part of the N2 Visual Communications Group and brought its prestigious clients and history with it.

Established in 1924, Albert Clark & Co Ltd was a print company situated in London, next to a paint company, the Rustins Group. Between 1924 and 1973, Albert Clark & Co Ltd became the premier letter press print, supplying theatre programmes and tickets for Lords Cricket Ground.

In 1971, due to an illness and early retirement of the owner, the Rustins Group were offered the building of Albert Clark & Co Ltd at a very good price, with the provision that the company would remain a printer for five years. The Rustins Group purchased Albert Clark & Co Ltd and brought a well needed new level of investment to the company, and the presses were kept running.

This investment enabled it to diversify into litho printing and build up a new client base with the new technology, which included Smiths Industry, Radio Mobile and Hitachi, whilst also building up a great level of work for the antiques trade in London. During this period, the company won a number of major awards for the quality of its work.

So how did Albert Clark & Co Ltd and the Rustins Group come to merge their names? Well, in the 1990s Albert Clark was supplying work for the Women's Committee in Camden, and they thought the name of the company was sexist, so Rustin Clark was born!

Its customers now include Faberge and The Royal College of Nursing and they are a very welcome part of the N2 Visual Communications Group.
